Another year has gone by, and Davin is ready to turn two! I can't believe he's two already. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago he was born, but it was. It seems to me that time is flying by faster since he's our last. I'm not ready for him to get big yet. Thankfully, I think he understands that, and so far is choosing to speak at a bare minimum, so he can't talk back to me yet. However there is a lot of pointing, grunting, and fighting with his brother and sisters, and just for fun he did learn how to say no, and that comes out a lot too. We decided that he needed to play with his birthday present all day, so first thing in the morning we ventured down the stairs......
where he found his BRAND NEW CAR!!!! ( can you hear a game show voice in your head when you read that? I can.....) He has had so much fun with a friends car, every time we're over there, we had to get him one of his own. As we knew it would, it has become the object of many fights, especially with Tayzia, who believes that Davin wants her to play in it..... he wants her to take it away from him all the time.
He really loves it, especially once he figured out how to get it going on the carpet.
Next was dinner, and of course cake and ice cream. He couldn't quite figure out how to blow out the candle, but we did get him to at least try and blow. Maybe next year.
He had his two year check up, and he now weighs 28 pounds.... which is a mere 20 pounds less than his almost 9 year old brother. He is sitting solidly in the 50% range for his weight and height. It's amazing to see one of my kids at a point above 5%! As far as his speech is concerned, the Dr. is a little worried. She does not however, know that Corben was the same way, very slow to get talking. She wants us to watch him for a couple more months, and if his vocabulary doesn't improve, she wants to start testing his hearing, and possibly start speech therapy. I'm not worried. I figure he's probably just taking his time, cause he can!
Happy birthday Davin my boy, we love you so much, and can't wait to see what you have in store for us this year.

Goodness! It does seem like just yesterday that we were both awaiting the arrival of our little ones. Now look at us! Mine will be two in two weeks. Yikes!
