The Waiting Game

That is what we are playing right now.... the waiting game.  Normally at this stage, with about 5 weeks to our PCS date we usually have our moving dates, our plane tickets, our reservations at various TLF/Hotels.  We'd have our housing inspection set up, and we'd be getting ready for all of that.  Right now, we have absolutely zilch.  We're still waiting for our paper orders.

We are supposed to move to Germany.  However, anyone moving to a foreign country has to send ahead a medical packet.  It will have everything they need to know, to make sure they have the services available to take care of your family.  The problem is, that can cause problems.  In our case we have one child on medication with mild ADD, and one child that we had evaluated for speech therapy.  Now, ADD is very common, and we were told that it probably won't be an issue, but Davin's speech therapy might.  So well over a month ago we sent off our paperwork, and since then we've just been waiting, and waiting, and waiting.  Come to find out the AF Base that was supposed to send it ahead to Ramstien, didn't, for a long time, and now Ramstein is rushing to try and get it done hopefully by the end of the week.  We did find out though, that speech therapy might be a big issue, since according to our sponsor, Ramstein has no speech therapy services for kids.  Nevermind that our doctor said he's now caught up, nevermind that we're not actually planning on putting him IN speech therapy, since he was evaluated, well, that's a problem.  However there's still a chance it will all work out, because the Army does have speech therapy resources out there, and we might be able to use those, even though we have no plans to use any because Davin's speech is so much better we are no longer worried.  Funny how that works huh?

So we're waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and hoping, and praying that we still get to go to Germany in five weeks.  Prayers are absolutely welcome!
