We went and tried to register the kids in school. I say tried, because they still aren't registered. If we had known what house, and what area far enough in advance, we could have figured out which school they'd be attending, and maybe we could have started the process sooner, but as it was we didn't know, until after we got here, and what a problem it's been. We went to sign them up, completely unaware that the state of California expects you to fill out a novel size packet of paper.....per child. Not only that, but it seems that anyone entering the 1st grade must have proof of a physical within the last year to enroll in school. Rylissa has never had a physical. We were not currently enrolled here in Tricare, so we couldn't just take her to the doc. Then we realized that the immunization records, that we knew we had with us, were not in fact with us. The secretary said she could request them, but she kind of made it sound like it would be a hassle on her to do so. We ended up leaving, figuring we'd be signed up for Tricare soon, and get an appointment. It's been a week now, and we just barely got signed up thanks to everything that is right with the world.....grrrrr. So we called the doc, and it seems that the soonest we can get our darling in for her physical, is Dec. 8th. Yup, even being aware that she can't start school until this happens, we can't get her in before that. I'm kinda frustrated right now, because my kids need to get back to school. Tomorrow, I get to go to the office and try to get them signed up....... by myself, because tomorrow, Tim starts school, so I get to drag all four kids over there and see if I can get this worked out.
Our movers came on Friday with our stuff. They started off pretty good, but by noon, they'd lost all desire whatsoever to please us, and had no problem commenting on how they didn't want to put stuff together, or how they had a barbecue they really wanted to go to at 1. After some effort we got them to start putting Corben's bed together, and ours (after it was all put together, we found some washers on the floor.... hope they weren't important). After hearing about the barbecue long enough, and seeing how they really just didn't care anymore, we just told them to leave. We spent the rest of the night putting everything together. We're also finding things in the wrong rooms, even though they specifically told us they'd put the boxes where we wanted them. They even had us take them on a tour, and tell them where to put things! So when I find my kitchen dishes in the garage, the books for the study in the kitchen, I get a bit annoyed (the contents of each box was written on the side.....like "Dishes" and "Books" So I'm not sure how they got confused). Oh well, at least it's all in the house and we can start getting back to our routines..... if we can ever get the kids back in school.

Sorry about all your frustrations. That would be very irritating. You would think they would cut you some slack being a military family, but I guess school's are so married to their dumb policies that they can't make exceptions. Sorry about your movers too. Good luck girl!
