For those who didn't know, we have a dog. We've had him since Tim and I celebrated our six month wedding anniversary! In fact, we got
Tac right
around 4-6 months after we were married. It was pure chance. You see
Tac, is a purebred, Welsh Corgi. He was abandoned. Someone at the company Tim worked at, found him, but couldn't keep him, and gave him to us. When taken to the vet, we discovered he was approximately six months old, and purebred. We really lucked out, because we got him for free. However we had no papers, and so there was no chance of breeding him. We looking briefly into how to get papers on him, but as far as we could tell, there was nothing we could do, and that was fine, he was just a super cute puppy, and we were happy to have him. When we found out we were moving to Japan, we started all the work to get him there with us. In the end however, the cost was so high, and it would have been so difficult to work everything out (we were going commercial, not on the patriot, so several layovers of either 1 hour, or 7-8) that we ended up leaving him with my parents and their dog. It was only supposed to be for the three years that we would be there, of course that turned into four, and my parents were
absolutely wonderful to keep him for us for so long. We've really missed him! We were so excited to meet up with him again.
This, is
Tac.
Tac, has always been more than gentle with kids. We had him when
Corben was born, and he was ever so gentle. He would change the way he played. He
would play rough with us, and soft with the kids.
Corben and
Rylissa would grab onto his face, his tail, his fur.
Corben would try and ride him like a horse, and never once did
Tac growl, bite, nip, or do anything to scare or harm our children. He's a very special dog. After staying four years, with a much larger dog to keep him company, I was wondering if he'd be
just as kind. Well, here it is... he is! He would walk away from Davin, if Davin got too rough, but other than that, he was absolutely perfect!
In the front there, is the face of
Tac, and behind him is my mothers dog Lady, she's a super special dog as well. My parents rescued her from the pound shortly after we got
Tac. They are almost the same age, and have the exact same coloring. We joke around that they must be related. They get along so well. It's been great for
Tac to have another dog to keep him company.
Corben and
Rylissa have been so excited to get him back. I was nervous, because the girls have acted completely terrified of dogs for the last 2 years, and so it was a beautiful surprise to have them so happy and comfortable with the dogs. Well,
Tayzia is a bit nervous around Lady, but who can blame her, Lady is as tall as
Tayzia!
After getting re-acquainted with the dogs, Davin learned to crawl up the steps in my parents house. There's only two, and they're a bit wider than average steps, so he can't crawl up regular stairs yet, but it's progress! He's also been pulling up a lot, and trying to stand. I think he may wait to walk for a while. I don't think he's in any hurry, but he's trying, and it's awesome!
