A friend of mine in Alaska, told us well before we moved here, that there was a great store called China Pete's, and we had to go. We did go, we've been several times in fact. We've looked at all the stuff they sold, and bought quite a bit. We got chopsticks, and other various kitchen items. We've drooled over the china. They have quite a selection. You can either go out Gate 2 and go to their main store, or you can go into the concession shop in the BX. At their main shop, they had some red china, and we instantly fell in love with it. However, a $400 price tag, for a 4 piece setting, was a bit much, considering we wanted to have at least a 10 piece setting! We kept our eyes open, and a few months ago, fell in love with a different design. It had a much better price, and a larger place setting.

So here it is, my new silver bamboo china set! We purchased two cases, so we have china for 12! It comes with:
12 dinner plates
12 salad plates
12 bowls
12 coffee cups (yeah, came with the set, maybe cocoa, or cider?)
12 saucers
2 large serving plates
2 large serving bowls.
We also picked up the accessory set, that came with:
1 tea pot
1 gravy boat
1 soup tureen
a salt and pepper shaker.
All of this matches. Tim of course was on board with all of this, and was very excited to get the china as well, however once we got home, he just sighed and said
"I guess I have to buy you a china hutch now....".
It's all already packed in shipping boxes, so that should be super easy for the movers, but I'm so sad, we won't actually get to use it for a while, since we don't know if we'll be home for Christmas or not, and chances are we won't have our stuff by Thanksgiving.

We bought a bunch of stuff from China Pete's right before we left too, but I haven't even taken them out of the box! How sad. :( Ours are more casual, pale blue with white cherry blossoms on them. Have fun using your new china!
