Tim took the week off this week, and we decided that we need to take some time to explore the island. We started off at Okinawa World. We left early in the afternoon, but got lost trying to find the place. It's not well advertised, and the map we had was pretty pathetic. However, we discovered another map in our glove box, and we eventually found ourselves in the parking lot! This place was
soooo much fun. There was so much to do for us, and for the kids. We did discover that while most attractions here in Okinawa cater to the English speaking, this place did not. Very few could speak any English, and there were not many translations for anything. It made it so much more fun to try and figure out what we were doing, and where we were going! Now we just need to learn some more Japanese!
On our way to see the
Eisa show, we ran into a place where they'd let you take a picture holding this giant snake.
Corben was pretty scared, but we convinced him that there was nothing to fear, and finally got him on our lap. It was fun. That snake is
sooo heavy, and he really wanted to move around as we held him.
Tayzia loved the snake, no fear whatsoever. She just reached out and touched, and grabbed, and patted the snake. Now please no calls to child services, the snake had it's jaws bound shut with a clear band, so there really was no danger. It was fun!
I can't tell you this man's name, but he sure was a neat person. His job is to sell these flutes to the tourists. We probably wouldn't have bit, if he hadn't been so fun. He was waving us down, and we were trying to politely refuse, and then he started to play "It's a small world after all" which got us laughing. Then he asked
Corben if he liked Star Wars, and proceeded to play noises that R2-D2 makes, and the sound of a light saber. He was just a lot of fun. We picked up a flute for each kid, and took the picture. He was a lot of fun!

I'm so jealous you were able to go there. We tried to find the place once to no avail. It just did not exist where the map said it should be. I'm so glad you all had so much fun! Enjoy that beautiful island!
